In order to encourage a cash trade, I am holding the above competition as from this date. In my shop window I have on view a bottle filled with ordinary peas [the peas are all whole, and sealed by Mr Day, chemist). For every 5s (cash) spent ihe purchaser may register a guess of the number of peas in the bottle. A register will be kept of the guesses, and purchasers will also receive a voucher for each ?uess he makes. The person guessing nearest to, or the exact number, receives the first prize as above, and so on in rotation. In the event of a tie for any prize, two articles of half the full value will be given. The winners may chose their articles from the stock. No one knows the contents of the bottle. On or lbout the 20th January next the bottle will be opened in ; a public place.
