Death of Lord Tennyson
(PEB PEESS ASSOCIATION.) London, October 6. Lord Tennyson died at 1 30. Sir Andrew Clark describes it as the most beautiful death he ever saw. The dying poet was surrounded by his family, and the room was in darkness with the exception of the brilliant moonbeams lighting up Lord Tennyson's face. Only three hours before the final scene, the last moments of the Laureate were cheered by a telegram from the Queen, the receipt of which eyidently gave him great pleasure. October 7. The remains of Lord Tennyson will be publicly interred next Browning's grave in Westminister Abbey on Wednesday. The press, commenting on Tennyson's death, laments the loss of one of England's greatest sons, and the foreign press publish appreciative notices. During his last hours Lord Tennyson read • Cymbeline,' turning the pages ot the book himself. The American press join in the general outburst of condolence, and praises his genius. _______^__
