•» A committee meeting of the aboye school Avas held last evening to receive the Inspector's report, etc. Present — Messrs Lethbridge (chairman), Carthew, Taylor, 0 E. Worsfold, Shearer, Sorley, Curtis, J. 0 C. Thompson, and Morey. The minutes _ of the last meeting were read and con- a firmed. The Chairman read the Inspec- « tor's report, and after some discussion it v was proposed by Mr Morey, seconded by ' f Mr Curtis, That the Chairman write to a the Head Master, to the effect that the t committee is satisfied that the result of t the examination is creditable, considering c the drawbacks the school has had to con- „ tend with during the past year.— Carried. c Reference Avas made to the large num- t ber of irregular attendants, and the chair- [ man undertook to see Constable Tuohey, ( the truant inspector, on the matter. , The visiting committee, Messrs Taylor , and Shearer, reported that several items ( which required their attention had been , put in order, i Resolved, That a vote of thanks be ac- ( corded to the outgoing visiting committee, , and that Messrs Curtis and Morey be < appointed a visiting committee for the | ensuing month. j Resolved, That the furze fence in the ; rear of the school grounds be taken away , and that a stab fence be substituted, Mr < PaAvson to pay half the cost. 1 A number of routine matters affecting ( the school Avere left to the chairman to be < dealt with. • I The committee passed a number of , accounts for payment and then adjourned. ,
