Among the sum set down for expenditure on roads to open up Crown Lands for sale are the following in Wellington district :— Pahiatua to Palmerston North, ,£1200 ; Toritea Road, .£SO ; Puketoi, £2200 ; Kaiwhata ValJey, £230 ; Mount Baker, £1000 ; Bridge and road, Napier's Crossing, £1000; Pohangina-Oroua Coal Creek, £1030 ; Otamakapua, £220 ; Wai-tokara-Omahine, £1500 ; Wanganui-Muri-motu, £350; Rangitikei Punt, Huntervill (Otara), £230; Pohonuiotane Block, £600; Te Kapua, £500; Mahuri Gorge Eoad, £2100 ; Kawatau-Hautapu, £500 ; Apiti District, £700 ; Waimarino, £1750 ; Road through University Reserve, £300 ; Pohangina Valley Road, £500; MakuriA.ohanga Road, £700; Upper Makuri Valley Road, £750; Waikanae-Hutt Road, £650 ; Kakariki and Waiwera Blocks, £300 ; Makairo Road, £500. Of the North Island Trunk Loan moneys, £10,000 is proposed to be voted for the Okahune-Pipiriki road, and £10,---000 for the Ongaruhe- Stratford road ; also £54,024 for the purchase of land, being the balance of last year's similar vote. Co-operative works for the unemployed are provided for by a vote of £10,000 as against £4365, voted last year and £10,---164 present. ,
