In order to encourage a cash trade, I am holding the above competition as from this date. In my shop window I have oa view a bottle filled with ordinary peas (the peas are all whole, and sealed by Mr Day, chemist). For every 5s (cash) spent the purchaser may register a guess of the number of peas in the bottle. A register will be kept of the guesses, and purchasers will also receive a voucher for each guess he makes. The person guessing nearest to, or the exact number, receives the first prize as above, and so on in rotation. In the event of a tie for any i prize, two articles oE half the full value will be given. The winners may chose their articles from the stock. No one knows the contents of the bottle.
