Wagstaff who notifies in your t columns that he has lost a horse, says also, that 3 or 4 have been lost lately from > different paddocks opening to the back roads of the block. If anyone is mean i enough to take advantage of a quiet road and take horses or sheep from their , owners, he could take rank with one who borrowed his neighbours daily newspaper during a period of twelve years. Not long ago twenty good sheep were taken in one night from a paddock and never heard of ; afterwards. There was no gate opening : to the road, bo they must have been lifted over the wires. The anniversary of the A.O.F. Court, Pohangina will be celebrated on the 9th > of November by a promenade concert and social. This court is in a flourishing con* ' dition, and is gaining new members. > Considerable additions are about to be ■ made to the State school. Timber is I ordered, and alterations will probably be > made during the holidays. I Diphtheria is still hanging about. Mr i Hunt's eldest boy is suffering from it. I Regular services are being held in the ; Pohangina schoolroom by the Rev J. M. I Devenish, curate of the new parish. ■ Members of the Farm Homestead As* I sociation are anxiously . looking for the - day of ballot. If delayed much longer it > will be too late for buahfelling this season. 1 Members are from all parts. One has ■ jußt arrived from India who took up a 1 section eight months ago.
