Fatal Accidents
I (PIB PBBSB ASSOCIATION.) Maeton, September 23. Yesterday two men were killed near Hunterville. One named Michael Dig* nan, aeed 35, single, Has accidentally killed in a tunnel on Rangitara railway works. The other Richard Keimett, aged 30, single, was killed while falling bush on Murray's track. Both bodies are ly* ing at the Hunterville Hotel. This Day. A. settler in Upper Rangitikei district named William Fairfield was killed last night on the Makirikiri Road on his way home from Marton. The body was found on the road this morning and his death supposed hare occurred through a dray falling over on him. Deceased was nearly sixty years of age, single, well to do, and is said to have no relations living. Auckland, This Day. Arthur Mead and John Ferry were drowned at Aratapu on Thursday by the capsize of a boat in a squall.
