In face, however, of recent news of tlie financial outlook in the manufacturing districts, it is extremely probable that unlesß buyers for the Continent and America operate with freedom prices will show no improvement upon closing rates at last M Sheepßkins-Conntry dry and butchers' skins have come forward in about usual quantity to meet same quotations at last week ; for factory we have no transactions to quote. We quote butchers' crossbreds, from 4s 3d to 4s 9d for best ; 3s 6d to 4s 3d for medium ; country dry skins, half wool, B£d to 4d, and three-quarter to full woolledup to 6d per lb. Hides continue in fair demand at last quotations. Grain-^-We have again to report continned firmness in the oat market. The reports from Sydney are not so encouraging as they were, but we do not look for the market here te alter much for some months. Considerable business has been done at for good, short feed from 2s 3d to 2s 4d. There is no improvement in the wheat market, we quote whole fowl wbeat at 2s 6d to 2s 8d per bushel. Grass Seed— The; demand is improving, as the spring advances. Quotations for Poverty Bay rye grass are 6s 3d to 6s 9d ; machined southern rye grss, 4s 3d to 5s ; Pacey's perennial rye grass seed, 4s 6d to 4s Bd. Cocksfoot qniet.
