Campbelltown Notes

_♦ ( FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT, j The Campbelltown State School was examined on the 22nd and 23rd of August by Mr Vereker Bindon. The working of arithmetic was fair, and the dictation and spelling were excellent. The total percentage of passes was 83-3. The school has been badly attended on account ol diphtheria which has been prevalent in this district during the last six months. A short time ago Mr Philps' valuable trap horse was badly staked in two places and after a few days it died. It is a mystery how it happened for the horse was running in a clear paddock, and no traces of the accident can be discovered anywhere. The mystery yet remains to be solved. *
