Masonic

The installation of the W.M. Bro A. Buckler, and investiture of officers of the Otangaki Lodge, No 70, N.Z.C. took place on August 9th, 1892, at Ashurst. There was a good muster of brethren from the Feilding Lodge, and Manawatu Kilwinning Lodge, and others. The Grand Superintendent W. Bro Williams acting as Installing Master, ably assisted by I.P.M. Bro Walter Bailey, who acted as D.C. in his usual efficient manner. The Board of Installed Masters consisted of Bros Walter Bailey, Sherwill, Bray, Thomson, of the Feilding Lodge, Bro W. Dawick, W.M. Manawatu Kilwinning Lodge, Bros, 1.P.M., Otangaki Lodge, Williams, Gibson, Winchcombe. The working tools in the first and third degree were presented by I.P.M. Bro Walter Bailey, in the second degree by the Grand Superintendent. The following brethren were invested by the W.M. Bro Sanders, S.W. ; Bro Craven, J.W. ; Bro James, Secretary ; Bro Page, Treasurer ; Bro Symonds, S.D. ; Bro Freeman, J.D. ; Bro Jarvis, 1.G. ; Bro Duley, Tyler. After the lodge was closed the brethren adjourned to the Dramatic Hall where a sumptuous banquet was prepared. The usual loyal and Masonic toasts having been proposed and honored the meeting broke up. The Town Clerk, Mr G. C. Hill, gives notice that the printed balance-sheet of the borough for the year 1891 92 is ready for inspection at the borough office. The New Zealand Clothing Factory hare just received between 200 and 300 patterns of tweed for special measure consisting of Mosgiel, Kaiapoi, Oamaru Timaru. Koslyn, Ashburton, and Petone tweeds and worsteds, all orders entrusted to tbe manager will receive careful and prompt attention. — Advt. S. J. Thompson's sale prices : —Colonial Flannel, grey and white, 10/6 doz. jds ; Welsh Flannel, very wide, reduced to 1/6 ; Dress Goods, 3/U, 4/11, 5/9 per dozen yards ; Boys' and Youths' " Variety " Caps, 6d each ; Ribbons, 2d yard upwards ; English and Colonial Blankets at cost ; 4..wheeled perambulators, with hood, 29/6 ; 4 wheeled wicker do., £1 ; Children's Boots and Shoes, from 1/11; Ladies' Hats, great assortment, from 6d each ; Looking Glasses, on stand. 4/6 up; Looking Glasses, hanging, from 8d ; common Cups and Saucers, 4s 3d dozen. Ladies, don't hesitate, but go straight to J. B. Hamilton's and secure one of the wonderful cheap Dress Fabrics. Just fancy ! Beautiful Braided Winter Kobes, 30s each, selling for 19s 6d ; lovely 35s Sealette Jackets, selling at 255 ; nice Waterproofs, just thrown away, for 2s lid; splendid Trimmed Hats at exactly half the usual selling prices, 2s 6d, ss, (is 6d. 7s 6d each, usual prices up to 16s 6d ; Towelling. 3}d yard ; Flannelettes, 3\d yard ; Twilled Cretonnes, 3d yard; white Blankets, 6s Ud pair; coloured Blankets, 3s lid each.
