An official bulletin reports that since August 1 and 2 there have been 4100 seizures throughout Russia and over 2000 deaths. Cholera is increasing in Poland, and a violent outbreak has occurred in Teheran, the capital of Persia. Paris, August 8. A stormy meeting has been held in the city, to protest against the Sofia executions. Resolutions were carried lauding the condemned men as martyrs. Berlin. August 8 Three thousand five hundred deiths from cholera took place throughout Prussia on the 3rd and 4th of this month. Calcutta, August S. Owing to the defeat of the Chinese troops by the Afghanese in th" Pamir district, the Russian troops nre euterimj the Chinese territory. The authorities at Pekin have demanded an explanation of the conduct of the Russian, and another Chinese expedition to Pamir is being fitted out. Two regiments of mountain artillery hare beeu sent to Gilgit, on the N.W. frontier. New York, August 8 The assistance of soldiers has again been invoked in connection with the Pittsburg strike, as further rioting has broken out.
