Wellington Land Board
♦ The Board met at Wellington last Thursday. Mr Tolley waited on the Board on behalf of his father, H. Tolley, and asked that title of section 4, block 14, Apiti, be allowed to isßue. It was explained that Mr Tolley had gone upon the land and completed improvements which the original selector had been unable to carry out. The applicant said that unless he obtained the title be could do nothing more towards improving the land. — The title was granted. The following transfers were approved : D. Mcßeth to J. and W. M'Beth, F. J. Brown to E. P. Mason, W. F. Marsh to W. Spurway. The applications made by W. Rooks and T. G. Philpot were not approved, the conditions of the Act not being complied with. The application of W. J. Woolford to be allowed to register a substitute on section 55, block 7, Ongo was refused, as he had not resided on the land previously. Banger Lundius reported that several alleged sales had taken place in various special settlements without the consent of the Board being first obtained. It was resolved to ask the Banger to supply a list of ihe names and details in each case. F. W. Storey, as Attorney for G. Gordon, asking that the decision of the Board forfeiting Mr Gordon's interest in sections 13 and 35, Blocks 2 and 6, Pohangina, be reconsidered. The Board resolved not to re-open the case. It was resolved to allow E.W., F.F., and C.L. Pemberton to reside on land in their own occupation or possession within ten miles of their small run, section 1, block 4, Apiti, on the Banger's report being obtained that they are living on their own land within ten miles.
