A cable message to an Australian exchange dated Ist July says :— The prize fi^ht between Joe Goddard, of Australia, and McAuliffe, in San Francisco took place last night. The fight was a very keenlj contested one from start to finish. At the end of ihe fifteenth round McAuliffe was unable to come up to time, und * Gyddard was declared the winner. The greatest interest was evinced during the fight, which was witnessed by an enormous concourse of people.
