There was a good attendance at Messrs F. B. Jackson and Co.'* Feilding Bale yesterday. The number of cattle yarded was 250, all bf which were sold. : Weaners brought 85s ; 18- months cattle, L2 l7s 6d ; yearlings to 18-month8 r L2 9s to L2 l7s 6d. Sheep were rather better. There was a substantial' entry of cattle yarded at Messrs Freeman B. Jackeon's and Co.'s Palmerston sale, on Thursday, for winch the, demand was somewhat easier. However, before the day was oyer nearly the lot was quitted. The recent cold and wet weather prevented some of the entries of sheep from a distance, consequently those, handy came forward only. For choice sorts there was a good inquiry, but of this class we had none on offer, our operations being chiefly confined to old ewes. The large r portion of this entry was turned out un sold, but anything; that would pass muster was promptly cleared. . . We quote .— Cattle.— 2\ to 3-year bullocks. £3 155 ; fat cows, £4 14s 6d, cows in calf, £2 17s 6d to £3 145 ; springing heifers. £4 to £5 10s; milch cows. £4 to £4 2s 6d; weaners, 26i to 28s 6d; 2 year heifers in calf, £2 175: Sheep— Half«bred ewes in lamb, 8s 6d ; ewe?, mixed ages, lis to 13s 6d ; fullmonth ewes in lamb, 12s ; mixed woolly lambs, 3s6dto6s7d.
