♦_ (per press association.) London, J uly 6. The total Unionist gain is 10, and that of Home Rulers 18. The Conservatives have up to the prosent returned 91, the Union sts 8, the Gladstonians 65, and Aote-Parnellite Home Rulers 2. In the Battersea election, Mr J. Burns polled 5616 votes against Mr Chinery, the Conservative candidate, who secured 4057. July 7. The Labour Party gain the Wai worth s<at, for which Mr Saunders defeated Mr C. H. Isaacs by 296 votes, and Mid dlesboro, for which Mr W. S. Wilson defeated the Home Rule candidate by 625 and the Unionist representative by 358. The Unionists gain Camlachie (Glasgow), Mr A. Cross defeating Mr McCvi« lough, the Home Rule candidate by 37L. Mr Cunninghame Graham polleJ 906 votes. Later. The returns so far given the Con reyatives 124; Unionists, 19; Liberals 91 ; Labour members, 3 ; Nationalists, 4. The net gain of the Gladstone party yesterday was seven. Maurice Heuley and William O'Brien have been elected for Cork City by great majorities over William Redmond and Hogan (Parnehites ) Mr Gladstone is being secerely heckled by his opponents in the course of the election campaign, and is reported to be greatly irritated at the persistent attacks levelled against him. He is also suffering from a cold. Mr Herbert Gladstone has been elected for Leeds West by a majority of 353. At Newcastle, which returns two members, Hammond. (ToryJ was at the head of the poll with 13,828, J. Morley, 1U,905, J. Craig 10,686. Morley and Craig, both Gladstonians, are the old members.
