The Question of Thirds
We are requested by Mr J. Stevens to ! publish the following telegrams re the question of thirds : — " The Hon John Ballance, 11 Wellington. ; "Kindly say whether G-oyernment in- \ tend repealing the Act under which thirda are paid to road districts out of laud sales ? Opposition circulating report to that effect, and that it is for the purpose ! of pleasing the Wanganui Harbor Board to the loss of bush settlers here. " John Stevens." " John Stevens, Esq., " Feilding. " No foundation whatever for rumour re thirds." " John Ballance."
