A special meeting of the Palmerston North District Hospital Committee was called to-day. Mr Lethbridge (the chairman) T. R. Taylor, and Mr W. G. Haybittle went down by the 10.53 train. The sale of fruit trees held yesterday at Messrs Stevens and Gortons auction rooms, Pergusson street, was well attended and the prices realised satis fac* tory. Cobbe and Darragh have imported a big lot of English blankets and rufts. They have also received a full assortment of colonial blankets direct from the makers. Prices are lower this season than last. It will be seen by an advertisement in another column that Mr J. J. Curtis, of Grey street, Wellington, draws the attention of the tradespeople and others to the goods consigned to his care. Consignees at present suffer from delay in transit at Wellington and the consequent expenses of storage, which would be entirely avoided. Those wishing to send parcels or presents to wishing to send parcels or presents to Eurspe are re« minded that he has a oheap prompt delivery by eaoli direct steamers for London. Pnroels so sent are delivered at the door of consignee, if instructed. It is also notified that he has special conveyance for the removal of furniture and luggage. Custom House work is, of course, a necessary branch of his business.— Advt. .
