The Cowboy Show
» Yesterday afternoon in the enclosure of the racecourse, Messrs Feliz and Felton gave an exhibition of their skill. It is estimated from eight hundred to a thousand persons were present, and the grand stand was well filled with ladies. The several feats of lassoing, [ and riding wild bullocks were all very f deftly performed, and many spectators who only had vague ideas of the lariat and it uses, had full opportunities given them of being instructed as to its capabilities by witnessing their practical application. Tbe most interesting part of the show, perhaps, was when the horsemen picked from the ground when their steeds were at full . gallop, various articles dropped, such as a bridle, sombrero, or rope. This was very cleverly done in every case. , It goes without saying, that there were a good many people disappointed because the show did not come quite up to their expectations, but it is only , fair to the performers to state that they did their level best, and if the the cattle they undertook to, and did, tame did no damage to anybody, that was no fault of the visitors. It is probable they will pay a visit to Marton shortly.
