A friendly game took place. on the Oval; ■, < yesterday between the Feildiog and Pal- ; . raerston Half-holiday Association teamsj in the presence of a fair number of opec; tators. Two spells of 40 minutes ea'cflf were played, and at the of the first spell the local team had scored 10 points to the opponents nil. Tries were obtained by W. Watts (3), Bellve (lj/and.Eeen '£). All the kicks at goals were unsuccessful. It is only fair to the Palmerston men to say that they played two short in the first apell, and with the assistance of! two. local players in the second half the game was more even. Keen ■ scored two more tries and I. Watts one, bringing the score up to 16 to ail. Towards the finish the Palmerston men livened up, and Dunstan | scored a try, from which Ranker kicked a .'.; goal (5 points). Messrs Lethbridge, and '.'! Strachan were the umpires, and Mr Haybittle, of Palmerston, the referee.
