I FROM OUB OWN CO-RESPONDENT. | A meeting of the Wanganui Harboui Board Association was held in Colytor Hall, Saturday, April 30. Twenty-twc members were present or represented Mr Lucas, the Chairman called on the Secretary to read the minutes of lasl meeting, which were confirmed. The Chairman stated that he had an interview with the Premier at Feilding re the Enabling Bill he undertook to shepherd, and was informed it was being prepared by the Secretary of the Wanganui flarboi Board. The meeting authorised the Chairman to proceed to Waugauui or Monday, May 2nd, the Board's day oi meeting, to see the draft of this Bill and also to re-peruse certain clauses of tiieiz Endowment Acfc. Mr Macarthur who was a member ol the Waste Lands Board before the present Government came into power, thinks that if their Endowment Act was fairly tested the Wanganui Harbor Board could deal with its land as it pleased, and so save the time that must necessarily be consumed while the Eaabling Bill is a preparing for after it has to pass the Jjlouse. "Time and tide wait for no man," neither will the bushfelling season. Both Mr Macarthur and Mr Wilson will, no doubt, support our Bill for both haye shown they are interested in the settlement of Pohangina. Mr Macarthur suggested that Mr Lucas should see the Minister of Lauds. He is a man of weight and his weight might accelerate the usual ministerial pace. It is so important to the members to get this thing settled before the season passes away, that no stone must be left unturned. This block is secured to us. but the preliminaries consequent upon the payment of the-roading-thirds question take up a long time. Mr Macarthur as member of the Waste Lands Board, led the Harbor Board many a dance, for he was always trying to get money from them for the roading of the block. Mr Charles Bray thought that the Chairman should search through the Endowment Act, and moved the resolution to that effect, which was seconded by Mr Cowan. Mr Cowan was instructed to inspect the block and report at this meeting whether a road could be laid off to four sections that have no frontage. Mr Bullock ac companied him. They reported that in their opinion a road could be surveyed, and suggested that Mr Bray, the engineer, should view it. Mr Cowan further reported that there was yery little black birch on the block. Mr Lucas was instructed to bring the defect of surveying under the notice r.-f the Harbor Board. The following transfers were made : — George Richards to James Harvey, and Herbert Hart to Thomas Roberts.
