[per united fress association! Paris, April 30. The city is virtually in a state of siege, and the shops will universally be closed on May Day. A great force of cavalry and infantry have been supplied with ball cartridge, and are quartered in the barrscks and at the police stations. Squads of police are stationed thoughout the city. No crowds are to be allowed to collect. In Marseilles great military precautions have been taken to prevent outrages. Owing to the threats of the Anarchists the Paris Bourse and upper galleries are closed. Therot, who gave testimony against Ravachol, has fled from Paris. The Cafe American and the Cafe Anglais, two of the leading hotels in Pans, are threatened by Anarchists. Madrid, April 30. The workmen throughout the country propose to celebrate May Day in a peaceful manner. The authorities have, how» ever, taken great military precautions. Brussels, May 1. An unsuccessful attempt has been made to dynamite the National Rank at Belgium. London, May 1. It is estimated that there were half a million people in Hyde Park yesterday. The Anarchists held a separate meeting and declared for the eight hours' agitation. A force of one hundred thousand troops were concentrated in Paris. The streets were deserted, and meet ings held indoors. The proceedings were orderly, and not a sintde arrest had to be made. Wholesale arrests of Anarchists were effected on the Continent yesterday. In many cities the troops were held in readiness for an outbreak. May 2. A bag containing dynamite cartridges and documents in a foreign language has been found under the walls of Woolwich Arsenal, The houses of two senators at Liege were dynamited, and also the Church of St Martin. Great damage was done, but no lives were lost. Burning bombs haye been found at the residence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Brussels ; also in a church at Seville, and in the streets of Barcelona. At the latter city seventeen arrests were made. ___^__^___^_
