STEVENS & GOKTON'S STOCK EEPORT. Messrs Stevens & Gorton's reports of stock sale held at the Borough Sale Yards Palmerston North, on Thursday lust, as follows : — We had smaller entries than is usual at our sale here on the 28th inst. The bad weather prevented some of the linos from coming forward. Cattle maintained recent rates, but the demand for sheep was limited We sold as under -Pat cows, £4 10s 8d to £i 12s 6d } small bullocks, £5 ; weaners, 25s to 36s ; forward weathers, lls 8d ; old ewes in lamb, 7s 6d ; small shorn lambs to good. 3s lid to 8s 2d ; small woolly lambs to good, 5s 6d to 8s 2d. Messrs Stevens and Gorton report on their sale at Feildmg yesterday as follows:—Cattle.—Fat bullocks. £6 2s; Fat cows, £4 l()s 6d to £4 12s 6d ; store cows and heifers. £3 2s 6d to £3 10s ; 2^- year steers, £2 lls to £3 5s ; weaners and steers, 34s to £2. Sheep.— Store wethers, 10s lid to lls 6d ; fat wethers, 12s 6d to 13s 3d ; ewes in lamb, 7s 6d to 12s 3d ; shorn lamos, 6s 3d to 8s ; woolly lambs, 6s 7d to 7s lid ; a parti* eularly fine lot fetched 10s 2d. The num« her of sheep yarded was 8813, and cattle 360 head, nearly all of which sold. Lambs found a ready sale, bat ewes were hard lo quit. Trespassers are warned not to take dogs or guns on Mr Charles Bull's pro* perties at Aorangi and on the Awahuri road. Having purchased from a large firm at a great reduction their samples of ladies and children's straw and felt hats for the present season, we have them now on view, and intend to sell them at our usual low Co-op prices and on the RTeat COop principle of division of profits.—J. C. Thompson, Manager. — Advt. Cobbe and Darragh have imported a big lot of English blankets and rufts. They have also received a full assortment of colonial blankets direct from the makers. Prices are lower this season than last.
