Sudden Death from Lock-Jaw
We regret to have to record the sudden death of a very much esteemed settler in the Feilding Small Farm Settlement. We refer to Mr Potts, the younger. The elder Mr Potts is well-known throughout the Halcombe and Makino district, as he was in business there aB a wool ecourer and purchaser of hides and skins. When the Feilding Block was opened he was one of the first who took up land there, not long ago he sent for his brother from Home who joined him on the farm. It appears that whilst they were engaged splitting a log the wedge flew out striking the thumb of Mr Potts, the younger. Lockjaw ensued shortly afterwards, and Mr Pottß died at 11.5 yesterday morning. We have no other particulars. The funeral will leaye the residence of Mr Charles S. Potta at 9 a.m. on Sunday for I the Birmingham cemetery.
