Pohangina Notes
. + j (from our own correspondent.) Since I last wrote I have had an opportunity of looking around the district and observe continual improvements. Among others I notice that Mr Woodham is erecting a nice house on his section. He has chosen a good j site with a running stream of water in front summer and winter. Further I up the river in the Awahou block Mr | Hughey is erecting a beautiful house i on what is one of the best sections in the whole block, with land as level as a dinner table, and magnificent for grazing stock. There 19 now a blacksmith's shop erected on the east end of the Valley road. A Public Hall will soon be talked about' seriously. There are immense crowds of people passing up and down and "it gets more like London " every day. There has been a very large quantity of grass seen taken up the river some distance above the Coal Greek. There is a big lot of bush to be felled this season, and miles of fencing to be done. Mr Vereker Bindon, school inspector, paid us an official visit last week.
