Crossbred were slightly cheaper, and coarse sorts are at par to per Ib lower than the prices obtained last series. The American visible supply of wheat is 61,600.000 busliels, March 31. The quautity of wheat and flour' afloat for the United Kincdom is 3.256,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,332,000 quarters. The number of bales of wool sent forward direct to the manufacturing districts i 3 84,6<X). The total available for this series is 355,600. The butter market is swamped by tinDanish and Norman article. Finest factory is selling at 110s, and the second quality at 90s. The lonic's butter is inferior. Business in New Zealand long-berried whent is restricted at 41s Patent flour 26s Bi; dais, fine quality, 26s 6d ; common softs, 24s 9d ; beans, 4ls 6d. Frozen mutton— Canterbury, 4id per lb ; lamb, 6d. New Zerland hemp is flat, a<. a decline of 10s per ton ; fair quality quoted at £21 ss. )pril 1. At the wool sales competition is steady, with prices unchanged.
Messrs Murray, Roberts aud Co, were yesterday in receipt of the followiusj cablegram from their London friends. Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., re the wool sales which opened on Tuesday. for the second series:— London, 29th March, 1892.-— Good attendance of buyers. Compared with closing rates of last London sales, merino has declined 5 to 7h per cent, and crossbred s hare also declined a shade.

The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the week ending Wednesday, 30th M arch, as follows : - Wool — The season throughout the North Island being now oyer, the only wool reaching our warehouses is odd lots of stragglers, lamb wool, etc., for which there is a fair demand at late rates. Shkep SKiNs-^Tne quantity coming to hand is not sufficient for trade require* ' ments, and in consequence prices, es« pecially for prime jjreen crossbreds, remain yery firm. We quote areen cross* breds, 2s to 3s Id; country skins, 3M to 6d per Ib, according to quality. Tallow and Fat— The usual supplies of country tallows haye been on offer I during the week, winch were taken up by our local ' boilers ' at last week's prices, viz. :— Prime mutton in shipping lines, 20s to 23s ; inferior to good, IJ.S to 18s ; ; rough fat, 12 to 13s. London market is sliehtly easier, but quotations remain without alteration. Hii>es — Our consignments were closed , at late rates ; market dull. Oats— A small business has been passing during the week, Is 8d to Is lOd for ordinary, and Is 1 Id to 2s for prime heavy feed. Wheat — Very little doing, owing to paucity of supplies. We quote 3s lOd to 4s. Barley— Small parcels of good feed are finding buyers at 2s 6d to 2s 9d, according to quality. Grass Seeds— The demand continues brisk, especially for ryegrass, and we hare placed considerable quantities dur ing the week at 6s 6d per lb for Poverty Bay seeds ; and 4s 6d to 5s for good Southern seed ; cocksfoot, 3d to 3-fd per lb, ex store. Hemp — There has been rather more enquiry lately, but very little business is reported, owing to low prices offering. Good fair average is worth, at ' he moment, Lls ; fine, Lls 10s. The quantity coming forward is almost nil. the bulk of the mills not being at work. Fbozek Meat — Our London manager cables that the market is weaker. Price of beef has declined £d per lb since last cablegram. Quotations nominal. The price of mutton and lamb has declined £d since our iast cablegram.

• The annual general meeting; of the Manawata Rugby XJaiou was held in Pntmerston N. on Wednesday evening last. Present — Messrs Say well and' Sfcrachan (Feilding), Storey and Kelleher (Pal. merston), Lloyd and Bennett (Awahuri), Remington (Bulls), and the Hon Secretary and Treasurer (Mr P. Moffatt). Mr A. E. Kemmgton was voted to the chair. It was resolTed that the Manawatu Union join the New Zealand Rugby Union, and that Mr Ei Oliphant be delegate. Mr L. A. Abraham was unanimously re-elected president, but the appointment of vice»presidents was held over till ench club would send in the name of a gentleman willing to act Messrs Saywell (Fielding), Randall (Palmerston). and J. Harrison (Marlon). were elected a match committee for the Seniors, and the captains of the Junior teams will be the committee for Junior matches. Mr K. Duncan was elected hon secretary. Messrs Strachan. Kelleher, and Remington were appointed a committee to revise the rules of the Union and report within three weeks. No fixtures were made, as the various Clubs had not sent in their nominations, but the Secretary was r«-s[uested to write them, asking that all intending competitor* for either Junior or Senior Championship inform him within three weeks, when the fixtures will 6e arranged. It was resolved that umpires and re« ferees be appointed by the Clubs. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr MofEatt for his past serricesThe meeting closed with the customary yote of thanks to the chairman.
