SUSPECTED OF OTHER BRUTAL MURDERS.

DEEMING'S ARRIVAL AT MELBOURNE. Melbourne, March 31. A Detectiye Brindt, formerly of Johannesburg, knew Deeming when in South Africa, and has every reason to believe he is the man wanted for the murder of a British officer named Graham and two natives in Johannesburg in 1888. The bodies of the murdered people were horribly mutilated. Brindt is engaged investigating the case. Shortly after the murder it is alleged that Deeming was connected with a number of others in swindling the National Bank of Johannesburg out of £16.200. April 1. The police have obtained evidence that Williams and the wife he is supposed to have murdered at Windsor lived unhap« pily between the 18th and 23th of De cemoer. During that space of time the wife arranged to take a house and live by herself till she could return to Enga land. Williams, the Windsor murderer, has arrived here. There was intense excite meut and the various wharves were crowded by those eager to catch a glimpse of the culprit, but by clever manoauvrI ing the police managed to land him in [ comparative quietude. i He was brought before the Magistrate's Court to-day and remanded to the Coroner's Court, which meets on Tuesday. Williams has been somewhat refractory since taken into custody, and is watched continuously. He begged to be permitted to have an interview with Rounesfell, his Melbourne fiancee, but the request was refused.
