IN THE MATTER OF "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1882," and the SEVERAL AMENDMENTS THEREOF. WHEREAS tbe Manchester Road Board desires to construct certain roads in the Manchester Road District, a general description whereof is set forth in the Schedule at the foot hereof, and for the purpose of conatructing such roads requires to take portions of the several sections in the Manchester Block hereinafter mentioned, namely, part of section numbered 2, sub-division B, containing nine acres one rood and twentyseven perches, portion of section 1 of sub-division B, containing four acres one rood, and portion of section 4, sub-division B, containing seven acres one rood and thirty-six perches ; and whereas a general description of the the said work as set forth in the said Schedule hereto, together with plans of the same aud of the said laud so required to be taken have been prepared and copies of the same have been deposited for inspection at F. Berry's Store, Makino Road, in the Manchester Road District. Notice is hereby given that all persons affected must set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such lands and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Manchester Road Board. Dated this 30th day of March, 1892. CHARLES BRAY, Clerk Manchester Road Board SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO. SPECIFICATION for the CONSTRUCTION OF McCREA'S ROAD. All trees, stumps, roots, and scrub of every kind to be cut down level with the surface of the ground and cleared off, together with all logs and rubbish of every kind for a width of 33 feet : 16ft 6in on each side of the centre line of the road. The road to be formed 16 feet wide to the heights and grades given by the Engineer, with a crown or camber of 15 inches. A ditch to be cut along on the upper side of the road i feet clear of the side of the formation, 18 inches wide on the bottom, 18 inches deep on an average, with a slope of one to one on each side. The said ditch to be cut with due regard to fall, so that the water will flow freely in the required direction. The earth excavated from the ditch to be used to make up the crown of the road. There will be two frame bridges, each 25 feet long with 12 feet roadway, and six glazed-pipe drains. The whole length of the road to be metalled with good, hard, clean, approved gravel, evenly spread, 12 feet wide and 6 inches thick, 6 feet on each side of the centre line of the road, and all stones broken so as to pass through a three-inch ring.
