New Zealand hemp is dull, and none has been disposed of at auctions. The quotations for meat are unch nnged. South Australian wheat is flat at 42s 3d ; Victorian is weaker, at 41s 9d. For Australian cargoes on passage sellers ask 38s 6d. which is 6d more than buyers are prepared to give. The average price in the English country market is 345. English wheat at Mark Lane averages 36s 6d. Frozen meat generally has declined about an eighth per pound. The balance of the lonic's apples, which are in poor condition, have sold at from 5s to 15s per case. Twenty five boxes of potatoes ex Matntua, from New Zealand, have been sold at Id per lb. March 27. Tallow— Medium mutton, 25s 9d ; beef. 24s 3d. The total arrivals of wool up to date number 350,000 bales, includine 40,0f>0 from Cape Colony. The Cape is expected to supply 50.000. Buyers anticipate that there will be a fall of id (excepting in crossbreds and superior merinos), as consumers are unable to cope with the supplies.
