Wanganui Education Board
The monthly meeting of the Education Board was commenced, lapfc night at I 7.30. Messrs G. Carson (chairman), Nofcman, Fry, Beckett, Sauson, Bridge and Hurley were present. Feilding. — The resignation of J. L. Walton, pupil teacher at Feilding, was accepted. The appointment of a successor was held over. Marton. — Miss Allison McDonald was appointed an assistant at Marton, vice Miss J. McDonald, and Miss H. Phyn was appointed a first-year innior assistant at Marton in the place of Miss A. McDonald, promoted. It was resolved to advertise for this school, and also to send in the names of any teachers in the district of whom the Inspector approved. Bulls.— The report of the sub-commit-tee of the Board on this school was adopted. Hiwinui. — The sum of £o was voted for fencing. OUingaiti.— An offer of two acres of land for a school site, made by Mr Alexaud Bell, of Halcombe, was received, and it was decided to ask Mr Bell to supply the usual information required by the Board as to the number of children that would be likely to attend if the school were erected. The meeting then adjourned until this morning.
