The Feilding Star. THURSDAY. MARCH 24, 1892. Valuable to Bush Farmers
There are in Victoria and New South Wales some hundreds of machines at work for extracting stumps, and a Government trial was held in Sydney, which was open to all inventors to prove their merits. The prize was awarded to the one manufactured by the Meadow Bank Company, Limited. It is satisfactory to know that one of their machines has been purchased by a townsman, and is already on its way to Feilding. "We understand it is a powerful application of a compound hydraulic jack, or one jack within another, and the results, as seen by our informant, were marvellous. It is to be hoped a public trial and exhibition will be given for the advantage of those who are deeply interested in clearing stumps from their land after burning.
