It will nceornmodate 55 vessels, and the area is 96 acres. March 23. Matthias Larkin, late secrelary of the South Melbourne Permanent Building and Investment Society, has surrendered to his bail, and is being tried on a charge I of defrauding the Society. Brisbane, March 22. There is great destitution among the unemployed. A number of families are said to be starving. The Government has accepted the offer of the Salvation Army to distribute relief.
