SERIOUS DISOEDERS and FIGHTING AT RAINHILL.
London, March 20. In 1889 Deeming, with the aid of an accomplice, swindled the jewellers in Johannisbur-s out o£ £3000 worth of goods. While he was there two myster- | ious murders were committed. The curate of Eainhill announced from j the pulpit to-day that Miss Mather, a, week previous to her wedding, censured him for casting doubts on Deeming's ■ bona fides. It has been discovered that after the j murder of his wife and children Deem- I ing showed his friends a blood-stained knife which he alleged had saved him. from the Kaffirs. There were serious disorders and fights ing at llainhiJl to-day, the crowds which thronged the place having difference of opinion as to how Deeming would best be punished. Crowds are visiting Rainhill. Deemmg's brothers are prostrated with shame and grief, but general sympathy is felt for them,
