The Government statist estimates the Victorian wheat crops at 13,508,800 bushels, equal to an average of 10J bushels per acre. The total value of wheats, oats, barley, potatoes, and hay raised in the colony is estimated at J64,744,000. The largest amount for several years. During the debate on the railway estimates W. F. Schey, member for Eedfern, accused the Railway Commissioners of favoring the Proudfoots in the matter of railway contracts. The Commissioners have asked the Government to hold an enquiry, but the latter declined on the ground they did not attach any importance to ithe charges. Proudfoot has issued a writ against Schey, claiming £10,000 damages. In consequence of the reduction in the immigration vote the Premier has cabled to the Agent-General instructions to stop all immigration to the colony. Adelaide, This Day.
