The Felding Star. TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 1892. Our Population

We have compiled the following very interesting: figures from the results of the census of the colony taken on the night of April sth, 1891. It will be seen that the country population of the Oroua County exceeds that of Manawatu County by 4693. The Borough of Feilding, the principal town of the Oroua Country has a total population of 1583 : consisting of 835 males and 748 females ; with five Chinese. Palmerston, the principal town Manawatu County, has a total population of 4303 : consisting of 2192 males, 2111 females, and 32 Chinese. Oroua County. The population in the Manchester Block u umbers 5030, including the Halcombe Town Board 414, consisting of 193 males and 221 females.
