Stock Market
There were over 16,000 sheep yarded at Messrs Stevens and Gorton's stock sale at Palmerston on Thursday. The attendance of buyers was good, bnt While sheep of really good quality brought their price, the. values of others showed a slight decline. Following were the prices :— Wethers, 10s 5d to lis 6d ; $ and 4otooth ewes, 14s to 15s 4d } mixed ages, 9s 6'd to 12s IOd; full-mouth ewes* 7s 3d to 12s ; old ewes, os to 7s 3d; woolly lambs, 7s 9d to 8s 8d ; shorn lambs, os 6d to 8s Id. The Lincolr. rams bred by Mr J. W. Williams brought from one guinea to 3rgs, averaging 2jgs each. Mr McHardie's Lincoln rams brought from 2£gs to 3|gs, averaging 2£gs. Mr Batchelar's Lincoln rams brought from2gs to B£gs, ayeraging 3£gs, the Romneys from 2£gs to 3gs<
