The True Protection
Nowadays the fiscal policy is always a prominent plank in the platform of every politician, yet is it a wise policy on the part of the consumers to place a t as on the articles which they do not make but only consume ? Suppose, for instance, the customs duty is 33 per cent, on imported goods, the wages of the laborer in all grades of employment in a country thus protected, should be 33 per cent, higher than in a freetrade country to make things equal — but. is it ever the case? True protection, like charity, begins at home, and in these days when the air is laden with microbes, bacteria and other germs of disease, it behoves us all to he on guard against the common enemy : old age kills but few, disease slays its thousands and millions, and all because mankind is so apathetic and careless about first signs of approaching sickness. Neuralgia is one of the most positive signs of the approach of some physical affliction, and requires immediate atten» tion, before it has progressed beyond human aid and fatal disease has gothold of some vital organ. S. C Reilly, Esq., writes under date June Ist, 1891, from Garner's Avenue, Marrickville, N.S.W. : " I can with confidence bear testimony to the wonderful curative powers of Clements Tonic. For years I have been periodically attacked and a great sufferer from neuralgia and general debility, and anyone who has ever being afilicted with such nerrous misery can form an idea of what I have suffered. I had also chrcnic indigc-stion, general languid feelings and an utter dislike to exert myself. The neuralgia was so severe that I haye paced the hall all night and the agony was so excruciating that I was almost out of my mind. I tried all so-called remedies, abo galv&nic treatment, which did no good. At last a friend recommended Clements Touic, and I was so miserable and disheartened tbat I purchased a small bottle and after the second dose felt great relief. I continued its use and am thankful to say that after twenty-four hours the pain had disappeared, and 1 was free from the nervous terror. I continued Clements Tonic and have taken four bottles ; all my langour is gone, I am free from indigestion, I can do a day's work wiih any maD, and eat like a horse ; and have great pleasure in recommending Clements Tonic to any one suffering from nervous complaints. —Yours truly, S. C. Reilly."
