An agreement has been signed by the Natives and by the Estates Company, by which the New Zealand Natives take over all the assets of the Land Company, and give a mortgage over certain portions of the land for a mortgage duo to the Company. A settler at Coroniandel, Robert Darling, while yarding a bull, was gored by be animal so bai\y that he died of his injuries. Gisbokne, February 20, A severe south easterly gale, accompanied by exceedingly heavy rain, has been raging since 9 o'clock last night, In the twelve hours to 9 a.m. this morning, 3.16 inches fell, and the rain is still pouring down in torrents. The rivers hereabout aro in high flood and are rapidly rising. At Tologa Bay Mr Trils mer's woolshed has been washed away. Tisiaru, February 20. George Oliyer, a single man, between 50 and 60 years of age, and a gardner by occupation, committed suicide by throwing himself before the express near Teimtka last evening. He died a few minutes after being picked up, badly mutilated.
