Mrß- B- Wise, M.L.A. for Sydney South, on behalf of the Pastoral and Finance Association and Geddes and Company, of Sydney, has arranged with a combination of shipowners and producers to export from Sydney on special terms 6000 carcases of frozen meat weekly. The arrangement will begin about the end of the year. The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 237,000 bales, of which 215,600 have been sold. : Tallow — Medium mutton, 265; beef, 24s 6d. * ■ ■ The English wheat market is steady ; the Continental has an upward tendency, and the American is firm.The shipment of potatoes by the s.s. Maori, from New Zealand, arrived in good condition. Those which were packed in sand were in the best order. Experts advise that they should noli be packed. Melbourne, February 14. During the seaspn just closed 2143 tons of butter were exported from this colony, which realised Is per lb. This is more than double the quantity of the previous season, and it is estimated that 3000 tons will be sent away next season. The . y ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report on the produce markets for the week ending Wednesday, 10th February, as follows : — Wool — For our third sale of this series we catalogue nearly 1.300 bales, a good proportion being lambs' wool. The attendance of buyers from Home manufacturing districts was good, and notwithstanding the depressing information in previous day's cables, competition for all better sorts of crossbreds and lambs' wool was spirited and keen ; inferior charcoaly and wasty wools were somewhat neglecled. Our prices ranged from 7d to 8d for good light greasy crossbred, and for lambs from 6fd to Bfd, at which rates we succeeded ia clearing over 800 bales of our catalogue. Wheat — No fowl wheat on offer at the moment, Quotations, nominally 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Oats — There will be little business passing until samples of the new crop come to hand. Small lines of heavy feed have found buyers at Is lOd to Is lid, sacks extra. Grass Seed— Cocksfoot seed is offering freely, but business reported is not extensive ; we quote 3d to 3£d. Ryegrass meets with a steady demand at late rates. Frozen Meat— Our London manager cables— Market has an upward tendency. Canterbury mutton is worth 4£d ; Wellington, 4£d ; New Zealand beef, forequarters, 4d ; hindquarters, 4s d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message, dated London, 12th instant : — Tallow — Market quiet. Good beef and fine mutton tallow is worth respectively 25s 3d and 27s 6d per cwt. "Frozen meat — Market firm. The price of mutton has advanced per lb since last report.
