♦ — The first competition for Dr Charlton's medal will take place at the range on Saturday next, to be fired for by recruits who joined the Manchester Rifles between the months of July and December last year. Lieut. Bray and Sergt. Evans are the handicappers. Ammunition will be supplied at 6d per packet. Distances 200, 300, and 500 yards. . The Company has been divided by the shooting committee into three classes as follows : — Class A.— -Lieut. O. Bray, Sergt. Evans, Vols. Aitken, F. Bassett, Saywell, Humphries, P. T. Lethbridge, Parker, J. Scott, "W. Stephens, and J. Evans. ' ■ .' i Class B.— Lieut. Kirton, B. M. Daw, Sergt. Henson, Vols. Chandler, Bellve, Dockerty, Hopkins, Gould, Humphrey, Gunderson, J. Henson, F. Keen, J. Lucre, F. Petherick, J, Matr avers. ClaBS C. — Corporal Milson, Yols. Charlton, Belfit, Boyd, Galwayj Newman, Geisen, Lankshear, McFarlane, Robinson, Taylor, Wigg, Feck, Haybittle, Battershill, and Green. This ia for the purpose of arranging competitions for the commanding officer's prize, Mrs Hastie's medal, and Volunteer Scott's two medals. There will be in' all five competitions. Four to count. In the event of ties three shots to be fired off at the last range to decide the winner. The ranges will be fixed by the committee. The designation of the Wanganui City Rifles, has been changed to the Albert Rifle Volunteers. The following are the handicaps for Dr. Charlton's medal : — Parker* Lethbridge, Bassett, F. Sayjrell, Evans, (junr.) andW. Stevens, scratch ; Hopkins, Dogherty, and Pethrick, $ points ; Humphrey, Goulc£ and Chandler, 6 points; W- Giesen, $ Galway, Lanksheatf McFarJane/anjj Robinson, 10 points.
