Foul Play

(per press association.) Masterton, February 12. A man named Dalton was found murdered at Eketahuna this morning. He was a grass seeder from Mangaone Valley and came in yesterday with two mates and was drinking with them until late. A quarrel took place about midnight, and Dalton was found about 8 o'clock this morning with a wound several inches in length in his throat and a stab in the back. Two men named Harrison and White were arrested this afteernoon by Constable Roche on suspicion of having murdered Dalton. Both men were in the company of deceased last night. In the tent of the accused was found two knives. The inquest will be held to-morrow at 3. p.m. This Day. Yesterday afternoon Constable Roache arrested two men at work grass seeding on the Mangaone valley road on a charge of murdering Dalton. One is named Charles Harrison, a (Russian Finn) and the other Charles Smith (German.)
