FIRES AND FALSE ALARMS.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB STAR. Sib— Now that we have a Fire Brigade and bell in Feilding I think pur Oity Fathers ought to enforce the Borough bye-law re lighting fires outside to burn tap rubbish, or insist upon anyone who wishes to do so to give proper notice, so that the Brigade may not be called out unnecessarily, and the public scared without proper cause. Someone, no. doubt thoughtlessly, made a big blaze last night at the top of Manchester street. I" expected to hear the fire bell ring out, and no one could have been blamed if they bad given us an unnecessary alarm. We have had quite enough fires to keep us going. •;■--' '-': •■"■•'*-' I am, &c, -::.:. •".' -; Always on the Albbt.a
