The deceased, witb his r family, came from Glasgow, from from which they sailed over fifty years ago, having landed in New Zealand on the 22nd of February, 1840. They arrived in the Bengal Merchant, which wae the fourth, and, we believe, the last vesse) which landed at Petone. After ten oi twelve months Mr. Bryce went to Wellington, where, as a carpenter, he undertook contracting work for some years, He removed thence to the Hutt, where he settled, and after a lapse of some years went to Australia. On returning to New Zealand he went to the Dunstan diggings, in Otago, and from there in 1862 or 1863 he came to the Fern Flats, near Marton, where he has resided with his son, Mr Thomas Bryce, ever since. The deceased would have been 87 years old on the 11th of next month.— Advocate.
