The Summer Meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club, which was held yesterday, may be pronounced an entire success. The weather was fine, the attendance large, and the racing was, altogether, very good. £1905 were put through the machine. There was some discontent expressed by the public at having to pay for the privilege of entering the saddling paddock whether they wanted to go there or not, and this kept a few outside. But no doubt the committee had good and sufficient reasons for making the change in the mode of charging. The following ' were the results of the several events : — 1. Our report is necessarily brief owing to pressure on our space, but we must congratulate the secretary, Mr Goodbehere, the clerk of scales, Mr W. G. Haybittle, the starter, Mr Durj, the clerk of the course, Mr Bellve. and the stewards on the very able manner in which they fulfilled their onerous duties. There was not a single hitch during the whole day. The Feilding Brass Band under the con-» ductorship of Mr R. F. Haybittle, performed a selection of pieces with their usual skill and taste. Financially, the Club comes out a long way ahead.
