The objects of the association as stated in the, resolution, are to promote economy and! honesty of administration, to support an ; equitable system taxation, to oppose the; renewal of extravagant public works'' borrowing nolicy, to uphold freehold; tenure as against the nationalisation of land; and to obtain dual electoral yote i.e. that; every ratepayer should have a votem,ad-[ dition to a residential vote.- It was also, resolved to affiliete with similar assooia-; tions throughout the colony. A strong committee was appointed.' The meeting was addressed by J. W. Marshall, the County Chairman, D. H. Macarthur,: M.H.R., A. Miloe, and the Hon John Bryce.
