Death of Sir Frederick Whitaker
•«• — (rEE PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, December i. This afternoon Sir Frederick Whitaker was seized vrilh a fatal illness at ii is office. Mr Buddie and Mrs Mason had occasion to go to Sir Frederick's room about 2 o'clock, wlioii they found him tin conscious in his clinir. t)v Maines was called in and orderod his immediata removal to lii.s home in Symonds- street, but Sir Frederick died shortly after he reached his residence. The cause of his death was parnlysis. He hud if severe shock of that kind in June last, and was in fnilin;; health since Mint time. The attack which caused Ins death was a sudden one, as Sir Frederick appeared in excellent health in the morning, and transacted his business as usual.
