« Notes by " Strathmore." Owners are reminded that nominations for the Feilding Jockey Club's Hack Meeting close on Saturday week, December 5. The Dunedin Jockey Club have received excellent acceptances for their meeting, which commences to-day. For the principal eyenfc (the Ofcago Cup) I shall expect to see the C.J.C. Derby winner Florrie carry Dan O'Brien's rose and black stripes to victory, with Mr Hunter's selected as next best. The Federal Handicap should result in an exciting contest between Conjuror, Clanranald, and Boulanger. The Wellington Racing Club have received only moderate acceptances for their meeting, which begins on Saturday. In the principal event I shall give my vote to Prestige with Krina, who is the pick of the Handicap on form, as his most dangerous opponent. Grand Stand Handicap—Bebellion or Weka should prove the winner. Three horses have accepted for the Hurdle Race, in which Beggarman should have no difficulty in defeating his two opponents. For the Flying Handicap I like Hakimana, Bebellion, and Banee Nuna.
