Wellington, November 19. The following scratchings in connection with the Wellington Racing Club's Spring Meeting are announced : — Whisper and Oynisca for all engagements, Jack for tbe Hurdle Handicap (first day), Angler for Grandstand Handicap and Plying Handicap, Torpedo for all handicaps on the first day. Christchuech, November 19. Mr J. Paul's Waihi, who got so seriously hurt in the Grand National Hurdle Race, was destroyed on Tuesday. Dan O'Brien will leave for Australia shortly with a strong team of horses. It is reported that the Americans paid 4000 guineas for Maxim. : Ashbubton, November 20. Harry Mooney and John Newman, were each fined .£lO and £3 ss, or one month's imprisonment, for laying totalisator odds on the racecourse yesterday.
