| PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) Palme rston North, This Day. John William Franklin committed suicide this morning by cutting his throat with a knife. He bad been drinking heavily. The man was 38 years old and unmarried. Later. At the mqueßt on Franklin a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. The evidence showed he was suffering from an attack of delirium tremens.
