I C , • This school is situated on the Water- - 6bed road,, directly facing Heid's line. It lias £een opened about 8 mouths and-has a roll of Scholars numbering 45. The grounds are fenced in and the teacher's residence is almost completed. The > Education Board erected the school and | provided a dwelling house of four rooms, leaving all extras for the settlers to complete at their own expense. The committee, with commendable enterprise, arranged for the erection 01 two rooms in addition to the four supplied by tho Board, in order^ to = proyide- sufficient accomodation for the master and his family. ' Mr Goldsbury has already. won the^affections of the scholars and tbe^appreciation of the parents by the pleasant and effective manner in which he performs his duties. JLast night the tiuder the leadership of Mr gave a concert in the s'cboolhonse before a large number of the settlers in the. district. The various items, were rendered in a very pleasing manner, giving evidence of careful training on the part of*their leader. ' Mrs Goldsbury accompanied the singing on the piano. 'A>letigthy^.p'ro- ' gramme was gone through. ■ 'The scholars * .sang their songs in unison and the effect was . cry pleasing.
