'~ > . Obituary
We deeply Vegret to announce the '■ death of Mrs Roe, the wife of Mr Charles Roe, which took place on Thursday-afternoon last, at her residence, KawaKawa, at about five o'clock. Mrs Roe was first prostrated with a slight cold, whiclr subsequently resulted in an attack of bronchitis, and notwithstanding the^care and unremitting attention of Dr Johnston, ended fatally. Mrs Roe arrived in. Feilding from Wellington about seventeen years ago., and during that time earned the respect and esteem of every settler iiuthe district. She^ has- left her hus- ' band^a family of three, sons and six daughters, and a number of grandchildren (two of the daughters are, Mrs P. Bartholomew, and Mrs A. W. Reeve) to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and good mother. We sympathise especially with Mf-Roe, who has thus lost the companion of his youth and the wise friend and counsel- - ler of his maturer age. Mrs, Roe arrived in Wellington in the Aurora iu*<f 1840 with her father, Mr Joseph Carter, s who was for many years in the employment of William Hicks'on and Co. . The funeral will take place tomorrow. (Sunday), when the cortege will leave the residence of Mr Charles Boe, Kawa Kawa, at 10.30 a.m. Friends are respectfully invited to attend. , '
